Would you like to step back in time and experience essence of Chatham? Then the Chatham Band Concerts are for you. The tradition will be having a very important birthday this year! The celebrated Cape Cod musical group is turning 85 years young!
Since 1932 the band has been playing summer concerts in the center of Chatham to the delight of hundreds of thousands of people. This year will be no exception! The Governor has issued a citation recognizing our 85th anniversary.
The Chatham Band Concerts season begins on June 30th at 8 PM and play every Friday night until September 1st at Kate Gould Park. At various Chatham Band Concerts we might even surprise you with special guest appearances as well as birthday-themed songs!
It’s estimated that more than two million people have come to at least one of the band concerts since the beginning. Proud to be a part of this wonderful historical group of musicians whose purpose is simply to bring together friends and family from near and far a few hours of enjoyment each summer Friday night.
Sponsored in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the band performed some of its most beautiful pieces like a medley from the “Sound of Music” as well as numerous rousing polkas to get everyone up and dancing. With a generous grant from the MA Cultural Council, the band was able to purchase new music for this event!
Concert last approximately an hour and a half. Though it “Never Rains” on Summer Friday Nights in Chatham, concerts may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
If you are free on a Friday Night in the summer, bring your blankets, chairs, and enjoy a fabulous evening. Be part of an 85 year old tradition. Step back into time at the Chatham Band Concerts. Oh yes, it is the best entertainment in New England for the price.
